The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board ,Prof. Ishaq Oloyede has called on Tertiary Institutions serving as Computer Based Test Centers for the conduct of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations to improve on their facilities to meet up with standards.

The JAMB Registrar made the call in an interview with Voice of Nigeria while responding to issues from the Mock Examinations of the board conducted on Saturday May 9th.

According to Prof.Oloyede , the National Board for Technical Education NBTE may need to re access the facilities presented by some polytechnics in ascertaining their accreditation.

He added that most of the facilities used for the mock exams by participating polytechnics are “sub-standard”

“I was at some of the polytechnics in Lagos State and I am not impressed at all I wish the NBTE will have a second look at the facilities they present for accreditation may be NBTE is not aware”

“Some of the polytechnics I visited they do not even look like primary school some primary schools are better equipped than some of these polytechnics and worst still they still say they are polytechnics so there is a need to have a look at some of the facilities these people presents for accreditation”.

He expressed satisfaction in the conduct of the mock examinations in other centers saying though JAMB had to deregister a center in Lagos State she to system failure.

The JAMB Registrar earlier monitored the examinations in Lagos and Ogun States, South-west Nigeria .
