2023 Election: “The South East Is Not Part of Our Calculation for Votes” -APC Chieftain, Hon. Goro

A chieftain of the APC in Kano State, Hon. Aminu Suleiman Goro, has revealed why his party is not counting on votes from the South East ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking on TVC News, the national lawmaker also stated that the South East should appreciate the APC for doing what the PDP failed to do in the zone during its 16 years in power.

Addressing the topic, Hon. Goro said, “I know that the LP may win the South East due to sentiments. However, I hope that the APC may win a state or two in the geopolitical zone.

However, in the worst case scenario, we could lose the five states to another party, but the APC has never won in the Southeast States. We will not lose sleep because the South East is not part of our calculation for votes.

He continued, “The APC won in 2019 without a state from the South East. It is their fundamental right to remain in the opposition if they choose to do so.

We are making inroads in the Southeast with multiple members there. We are also making inroads with fundamental projects like the 2nd Niger Bridge, which the PDP administration denied them for over 16 years. Nobody will follow the PDP if our politics is value-based.”
