2023: Governor Tambuwal Finally Spits Hot Truth, Says “Southeast Is Being Marginalized”

As the 2023 Presidential election is drawing closer, the aspirants have started strategizing on how to emerge flag-bearers of their various political parties.

The major point of discussion surrounding the presidential race is the issue of zoning. Most Nigerians are of the opinion that the next President of Nigeria should come from South.

However, there is this general belief that the people of Southeastern Nigeria are marginalized. Therefore, some Nigerians insist that power should be handed over to the southeast in order to assure equity and fairness.

The Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal has made his opinion on the issue of Southeast marginalization. Tambuwal spoke during his consultation with members of the National Assembly on Wednesday for his Presidential aspiration.

The governor informed the National Assembly members that Nigerians need competent people to solve the leadership crisis facing the country.

On the alleged marginalization of Southeast, Tambuwal bemoaned the injustice carried out by the present administration towards Southeast geopolitical zone.

According to Daily Trust, Tambuwal stated that, “it is unbelievable that in a country such as Nigeria, you can have from number one to number eight without a region being represented in the leadership of this country.”

The PDP Presidential aspirant claimed that none of the major political offices in Nigeria is occupied by any person from Southeast.

“From the President to the Vice President to the Senate President to the Deputy Senate President to the Speaker to the Deputy Speaker to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, you don’t have one single individual in that hierarchy from South Eastern Nigeria. That cannot happen under my watch,” he finalised.

Recently, Gov. Tambuwal has been pictured with Peter Obi for deliberations surrounding 2023 Presidential race. The two political juggernauts are contesting for the position of Presidential flag-bearer of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
