The spokesperson of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Daniel Bwala has disclosed the promise the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party made to Mr Peter Obi prior to his defection to the Labour party.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Rufai Oseni on Voice Of The People Fm Radio station on Sunday, Bwala revealed that Atiku Abubakar actually told Peter Obi that he would not contest the 2023 presidential election if the position of the President is zoned to the South-East.
According to him, Atiku Abubakar has always held the opinion that the position should be zoned to either south east or north east since they are the only geopolitical zones that have not benefited from the position.
“He made it clear to Obi that if the presidentcy is zoned to the South-East, he will not contest. Atiku Abubakar believed the the presidency should either go to the South East or come to the North East,” Daniel Bwala stated.
