2023 WWC: Atiku hails Super Falcons over Australia’s defeat

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has hailed the Super Falcons of Nigeria for beating Australia in a 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup tie.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Thursday defeated Australia 3-2 in a 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup tie at the Suncorp Stadium.

Raye24reporters reports that Emily van Egmond scored for Australia in the first half before Uchenna Kanu equalized for Nigeria before half-time.

Osinachi Ohale and Asisat Oshoala both scored for Nigeria in the second half before Alanna Kennedy scored a late consolation goal for Australia.

Reacting, Atiku, in a tweet on his Twitter handle said the Super Falcons’ victory encapsulates what Nigerians can do as a people and country when they work together as one.

He tweeted, “Bravo, Super Falcons, @NGSuper_Falcons! Your remarkable victory brilliantly encapsulates what we can do as a people and a country when we work together as one.”

The Super Eagles will now face the Republic of Ireland in their last group game next Monday.
