The Ministerial Committee of the 2024 Hajj exercise in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory has set up a high power Committee on food Quality Monitoring in the Holy land.
The Chairman of the Ministerial Committee Dr Abdullahi Kaura – Mata who inaugurated the committee in Makkah, Saudi Arabia on Friday said the gesture was to ensure proper feeding of the pilgrims inline with the menu during their stay in Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj.
Dr Kaura – Mata who double as the Chief of Staff to the FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud expressed satisfaction with the way and manners in which the FCT pilgrims are fed in the Holy land, added that some of the challenges which were earlier observed have been addressed.
He commended the FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike and the Minister of State Dr Mariya Mahmoud for their continue support to the Pilgrims and that the Board has made adequate feeding arrangements to ensure the success of the exercise.
The Chairman of the Ministerial Committee who also commended the pilgrims for their orderly conduct assured them that they will continue to enjoy adequate feeding and quality foods through out the exercise.
Dr Kaura- Mata then called on the pilgrims to reciprocate the gesture by praying for the success of the FCT pilgrims welfare Board policies and programs and the ministers in particular.
He outlines some of the terms of reference of the feeding Committee to includes; ensure strict compliance with the menu and consider reviewing same where necessary; Ensure the food given at any time is qualitative; Coordinate the Food Distribution in all the Hotels; Provide periodic update on the Committee’s WhatsApp group.
The Committee set up on food Quality Monitoring is headed by the Director of Audit, FCT Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board, Zainab Aruwa.
Other members of the committee includes Haj. Hadiza Muhammad, Deputy Director, (Member) Dr. Maryam Habib, (Member) Malama Zahrau Habib (Member) Fauziyya Yusuf Naguto, Head of Unit (Feeding) also Member
