No fewer than 520 students admitted in to the schools of health technology Jahun Jigawa state this year.
The director of the school Alhaji Surajo Suleiman, has confirmed that the admission in to the school was based on merit and courter system.
Surajo further explained that every year the school admit 50 student in the J CEW department and in community health extension workers Dept 75 students in MLT that is medical laboratory technician Dept also 50 students.
Other department include dental surgery technician has 50 student and bio medical Engineering department also 50 students were admitted and in the dispensing Petnary only thirty student were able to meet up the requirement.
The director explained that in the department of Health information technician 70 number of students scale through and in the department of Environmental health technician 100 students admitted annually.
The director further stated that the students admission was base on constituency and quarter system where each local government has the slot of 15 students .
Explained that the school has given more consideration to few local government area based on catchment areas and lack of health personnel in their area where each has a slot of 25 students instead of 15 as part of the school contribution to that councils.
These local government include; Buji, Miga, Birniwa, Auyo, Kirikasamma and Gagarawa.
He also Added that neighbouring state like Kano, has more advantage as a mother state annually we admit nine students from Kano state out 40 slot given to the states near Jigawa.
In the area of development the school has erected solar power to supply energy to the school DOP, HIM, ICT, and CH which is a total of N 4.4 million.
In the area of water supply to the school premises, the school management has also purchased solar panel and inverter as well as somersault pump to ensure adequate water supply to the school which the school to will spend over N8. 62 m
In the area of hygiene the schools, has also construct hostel soakaway six in number at the cost of N480,000 and net protection against mosquito’s was instated in each of the female hostel.
