Fubara’s Plan To Remove Speaker Of The House Of Assembly Triggered Rivers Crisis – Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has revealed the root of his conflict with Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wike stated that the crisis in Rivers stems from Fubara’s attempt to remove the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Amaewhule.

Wike said that Fubara plotted to remove the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Amaewhule but the plan boomerang leading to crisis in the state.

According to Wike, the Governor’s plan backfired, sparking political tension and unrest in the state. Wike refuted claims that the dispute was financially motivated, stating, “Have Fubara told you I demanded any money from him? I have never done that.” The rivalry between the two political figures has intensified, leading to unrest and significant tension in Rivers State.
