Atiku: Mismanagement Of Subsidy Removal By ‘T Pain’ Leading To Economic Crisis

Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the poor management of the removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu.

In a post on his X handle on Thursday, Mr Atiku, blamed the President’s “haphazard and disingenuous approach” for the economic challenges bedevilling the country.

Mr Atiku said, “The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country.”

He criticized Mr Tinubu for being undisturbed by the latest hike expected to reflect on the prices of goods and services in the coming days, which would further stifle Nigerians’ ability to afford basic needs.

“As things stand, there will be no let up in the escalating inflation rate, which is drowning the material well-being of Nigerians. It is even more worrying that T-pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country. -AA,” he added.

The President had at his inauguration into office on May 29, 2023, removed fuel subsidy, which swiftly resulted in the hiking of fuel price from N195 to N540 by oil marketers.
