While Trying to Recover Friend’s Shoes Two Boys Drown in Jos Dam

Two young children have reportedly drowned at the dam in Rayfield Resort, Jos, Plateau State last weekend.

According to reports made available to reporters claimed that the kids drowned while trying to recover one of their friend’s shoe pair that fell into the dam.

The victims were revealed as Michael Nyam (8) and Elijah Solomon (6).

Naija News learnt that the remains of the kids have been recovered and buried.

Sharing a bit of the awful incident, an eyewitness, Gyang Pwol told newsmen that the victims were both residents of Rayfield community.

He said: “They jumped into the deep water in the dam to rescue a shoe of their friend, unfortunately, the volume of water was too much.

“Before help could come, they got drowned,” the witness said.

No comment, however, has been made yet by the State Police Command regarding the incident as ASP Ubah Ogaba, the Police Public Relations Officer told journalists that the incident was not reported to the police.
