Our Main Challenge is Water Scarcity in Birnin kudu – Gigo

The chairman of council Alhaji Magaji Yusif Gigo, while discussing with newsmen in his office last week in Birnin kudu, said their major challenge that is been faced is water scarcity which disturbed people living around Birnin kudu communities for years.

The chairman, said every month his council use to purchase Twenty Million Naira worth of diesel to aid for the supply of water in Birnin kuru.

He also stated that he was seriously disturbed in the way and manner the water vendors used to charge the public on water supply a gerican of water is sold at forty naira instead of twenty naira and truck of water sold at four hundred instead of two hundred.

The chairman call on water vendors in the area to reduce the price or the council will establish a task force committee that will force them to pay revenue that will assist the council to generate revenue.

In the area of electricity supply the chairman said the council used to distribute 950 litres of diesel to nine generator set in Birnin kudu and other villages around the area for lightens and security out fit

In the area of open deification in the state, Birnin kudu local government is among the best council, in which they were served with certificate by federal government on their effort.

Alhaji Gigo charge his people to always support government programme and policies for the success of the programme in the state and Nigeria in general
