A official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Jamiu Issa, has been crushed to death by a driver in the Lekki-Ajah area of the state.
The traffic official tried to arrest the motorist who was driving against traffic when the driver rammed into him.
Issa was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
However, the Sienna driver was chased by witnesses at scene as he tried to escape. In the process, he also knocked down another person before he was apprehended.
The driver was taken first to Ilasan police station, and eventually to Ajiwe police station.
Loved ones have taken to Facebook to mourn the officer.
