Bukola Saraki Meets Gov Okowa In Delta

Former Senate President and presidential aspirant Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Wednesday met with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The both met at the Delta State Government House, Asaba.

The meeting, it was gathered, was part of Saraki’s consultation ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries election.

Saraki, who is seen as a leading aspirant in the opposition party, was recently in the news over his controversial endorsement as the northern consensus candidate of the PDP alongside Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.

Governor lAminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State and businessman Mohammed Hayatu-Deen had rejected Bala and Saraki as consensus candidates.

Tambuwal had accused the former Senate President of spreading false report about the botched consensus, vowing to march on with his presidential ambition.

Saraki, who is a former two-term governor of Kwara State, has promised to revive Nigeria’s economy is he is voted to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

He promised to appointment many youths and women into strategic positions if he becomes President.

The former President of Senate also dismissed those calling for the presidency to be zoned to the South-East, insisting that it was the turn of the North-central to produce the country’s leader.
