Bishop David Oyedepo has told people not to get angry when they hear that he is the richest pastor in the world, rather, they should check what he did to get there and do the same, so their lives can be better too.
He said this during his sermon at the service to celebrate the 41st anniversary of the liberation mandate.
He said that when he saw the report about his net worth that made him the world’s richest pastor, he was not surprised because he knew he would get there even before he had a bank account.
He explained to the congregation that nobody can become rich without signing up for the covenant of seed time and harvest time. It is what you sow, that you will reap. You cannot be stingy and be prosperous.
“In the early days of our ministry, I will send ushers to bring the man and woman who were not smiling during the praise and worship, and I will find out what the problem was,” the Bishop said. “Sometimes, they will tell me that they had no food to eat when they get home. My whole bank account was in my pocket those days, so I will just put my hand in my pocket, and give them something. As I give them, I declare over their lives that they will never beg to eat again. That’s how I got to where I am today.”
There was a Sunday we made ten naira as a church, and we gave the whole money to a member who had a need,” the Bishop continued.
He urged his congregation to key into this mystery for their own financial breakthroughs.
