Few moments ago, the Chief Whip of the 9th senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), took to his verified social media platform (Facebook) to congratulate the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for choosing a North Easterner, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as their 2023 presidential candidate.
Relating the action of the PDP to his party, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu said, “if the All Progressives Congress (APC) chooses a southern candidate, the party will go on political retirement.”
To Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the APC has more chances of winning if a North Easterner is field against Atiku Abubakar. He suggested that the President should handpick Senator Ahmed Lawan as his successor solely because he is also a North Easterner.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu spoke about the presidential aspirants under his party saying, “all APC aspirants should drop their ambition and support a North Easterner and Senator Ahmad Lawan is the destination.”
