Outburst Against Buhari, APC Move to Discipline Tinubu

Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his outburst against President Muhammadu Buhari.

While stating that the outburst was unacceptable, the APC noted that the apology later offered by Tinubu was not enough.

The party said it may punish the presidential aspirant for the outburst.

Speaking with journalists on Saturday at the party national secretariat, APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu said the former Lagos State Governor insulted President Muhammadu Buhari and described that his action as unbecoming and insulting.

He did not however elaborate on the nature of the sanction awaiting Tinubu.

Recall that Tinubu had boasted, while speaking to APC delegates in Ogun, that Buhari wouldn’t have been president without his help.

He said: “If not me that led the war front, Buhari would not have emerged. He contested first, second and third times, but lost. He even said on television that he would not contest again.

“But I went to his home in Katsina, I told him you would contest and win, but ‘you would not joke with Yoruba matters.

“Since he has emerged, I have not been appointed minister. I didn’t get a contract.

“This time, it’s the Yoruba’s turn and in Yorubaland, it’s my tenure.”

He also claimed to be behind the emergence of Yemi Osinbajo as vice president and Dapo Abiodun as governor of Ogun State.
