Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, of Ondo State, has expressed dissatisfaction over the action of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Adamu for announcing Ahmed Lawan as the consensus candidate for the presidential election.
In a statement he signed, Akeredolu stated that Adamu is embarking on a frolic, which reasonable people will consider dangerous.
R24R, had earlier reported that the chairman of the ruling party announced the Senate President as the party’s consensus candidate.
A declaration which has caused a rift with members of the National Working Committee of the party.
Akeredolu called on Adamu not to forget the stand that power must be shifted to the South in the forthcoming general elections.
The Ondo State Governor in his reaction to Lawan’s endorsement by the party’s national chairman wrote, “The speculation is rife that the Chairman took a flight of fancy and decided to make a pronouncement beyond his competence.
“Let it be known that the Chairman or anyone who holds a contrary opinion does so at a personal level. He is at best embarking on a frolic that reasonable people will consider dangerous.
“We are grieving but have not forgotten that Power MUST shift to the south. On this, we stand.”
