Nigerians are already reacting to the unveiling of the new Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation logo by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on Tuesday.
At the unveiling event, Buhari declared that the new entity would henceforth be free from institutional regulations.
Reacting to the development, some Nigerians on Twitter have been sharing their thoughts, especially as the nation battles fuel price hike and fuel scarcity.
A tweep, Amir #slyalubo tweeted ‘’NNPC refused to make profit so they gave it new logo. Instead of a refinery.’’
PromiseOkpara5 slammed the government for what he called misplaced priorities. He tweeted, “Unveiling a new logo when we’re having scarcity of fuel, ASUU strike and all. This govt with misplaced priority, 5 and 6.’’
Another tweep, #davidblawal focused on the aesthetics of the new logo, saying, “I prefer the old NNPC logo, although it was rubbish itself. This new one looks like a design agency logo fa. In branding, the logo should be able to stand alone and should communicate.’’
“There is fire on the mountain yet they are unveiling a new logo for NNPC, it’s laughable indeed. Changing this NNPC logo won’t quench this fire. Fuel price is 180 and here you are changing logo,” JoshuaOnunwa tweeted.
