Post APC Primary Election Crises: Aspirent asks Court to stop APC from participating in 2023 gov election in Jigawa.

The Federal Higher Court sitting in Dutse, Jigawa state capital has adjoined the judgement of a case filled by Honourable Faruk Adamu Aliyu challenging the process and emergence of the ruling party All Progressice Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the state from today, (Wednesday).

The presiding judge, justice Hassan Dikko told the two parties during the proceeding at the higher court on Tuesday after hearing affidavits and counter affidavits from the plaintiff and defendents.

The higher court earlier fixed Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 of this month for judgement, but Justice Hassan Dikko adjoined the court.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after yesterday’s court sitting the leading counsel to the plaintiff, Honourable Faruk Adamu Aliyu, Onyechi Ikpeazu SAN said “we were in court saying the nomination of the APC governorship candidate nomination was wrong, it’s failed to comply with the constitution of the party and it’s failed to comply with the party’s notice and how the primaries should be conducted”. 

According to him “the law is very clear, we have established in our opinion to the satisfactions of the court on the wrongful of the nomination and when the court find with us it has to set aside the nomination, that what law says”.

Also speaking the led counsel to the defendents, Mr. Yakubu Abdullahi Ruba SAN, said the court has listen to the two parties and adjoined the case.

Mr Abdullahi Ruba SAN said “the today’s sittings had witness high dignitaries and high profiles lawyers that the state ever recorded.

Honourable Faruk Adamu Aliyu aspired for the position of governorship under the ruling APC and participated in the party’s primary election in Jigawa state

The former minority leader in the house of representatives when represented Birninkudu/Federal constituency draged the All Progressice Congress (APC) to court asking the court to stop the party from participating in the 2023 governorship election claiming that the party has no candidate.

The complainant also asked the court to compelled the party (APC) to pay him N50 million nomination form fee back and to pay him N500 million damages.
