The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Organisation, Deputy Director Hanatu Musawa, has described the alleged plot to remove the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu from office as mere social media talks.
Musawa stated this on Monday night during an interview on Channels Television.
The APC chieftain said the party members have confidence in Adamu, including the National Executive Committee (NEC) and there is nothing that would change it.
Speaking on the upcoming meeting of NEC with the National Working Committee (NWC), Musawa said that the outcome of the meeting will have little or nothing to do with Adamu’s removal.
She said: “We have full confidence in him and I don’t think anything is going to change in that regard.
“I think most of what you are hearing in the news is not the official position of the party but talks around social media. Most leaders of the party and even the NEC are in support of his leadership.
I think what you are going to see is a vote of confidence on the APC leadership of Senator Adamu as we have no plan to remove him ahead of the election.
“As a party, we want to go into this election united and unity comes from the top. Adamu has been able to navigate the party to where it is today.”
