The age long inter tribal crisis between the Bassa and the Ebira tribe both of Kogi state took a disturbing dimension today.
The Ebira militias, has reportedly attacked the commercial hub of Bassa local government Area known as Sheria, leaving property destroyed and many killed
According to report, the attackers in their hundreds attacked the community at about 11 am leaving scores killed, some burnt alive and properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed.
Meanwhile, most of the shops burnt down were owned by the Catholic Church which were attached to the church’s perimeter fence but rented out of different business owners.
The security personnel gave very little resistance to the attackers leaving the Bassa people to there fate.
