The Jigawa state Deputy Governor Alhaji Umar Namadi, has visited flood victims Karnaya Village of Dutse Local Government Area to commiserate with the community over the recent destructions of their houses by flood and to ascertain the extent of damage.
According to report gathered by our correspondent, hundreds of houses including farmlands were ravaged by the deluge while countless indigenes were displaced.
Those in the company of the Deputy Governor including, the State Civil Defense Commandant, Commissioners of some selected ministries and Special Assistants led by the Honorable Chairman, Dutse LGA, Bala Usman Chamo, equally visited the displaced persons in their improvised camps with assurances from the State Government to look after their well-being. Prayers were equally offered for God’s intervention.
Meanwhile, immediately the report of the incident was received, the State Commandant ordered deployment of Disaster Management personnel to the scene for the evacuation of affected victims and their relocation to a much safer place. Same personnel were equally detailed to also manage and secure the improvised shelters.
DCC Rafiu Yekini Olaruwanju, ACC Zakari Adamu Dansanda, ACC Sanusi Liman Moriki, Heads of Disaster Management, Operations, and Special Duties were among the State Commandant’s entourage.
