As the people of Etung celebrate the 2022 new yam festival, Barr Maurice Oru Ebam as felicitated with the people even as he explained the significant of the event in the lives of the people.
“Without Etung Local Government Area there will be no me as I am a proud son of the soil and the yam for my people is considered king of crops.”
Barr. Maurice Oru Ebam who is a proud Etung son in the diaspora, the son of Ntufam Oscar Oru Ebam and grand son of Ntufam John Etim Ebam of Nyarikan Clan in Etomi village of Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State facilitated with his people of Etung on their historic and cultural celebration of the Etung New Yam Festival.
Barr. Maurice Oru Ebam who is the immediate Past National Youth Leader of African Democratic Congress (ADC), past interim Chairman Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria, one time Forbes Under 30 nominee and currently National Youth Leader of Allied Peoples Movement (APM) noted that he is a very proud son of Etung Local Government Area while his own mother also comes from Etung Local Government Area making him a privilege son of both Northern and Southern Etung.
The Etung people who are mostly agrarian are blessed with one of the most fertile lands in Nigeria, Africa and the world.
Barr. Maurice Oru Ebam prayed that God heals the land of Etung and bless its people with great and wise leaders.
