No fewer than Forty thousand members of millet farmers association in Jigawa state, has been slated to receive agriculture soft loan with the intention to boost millet farming in the state under the federal government support program
The association state coordinator, Alhaji Aminu Adamu Dutse, who stated this in an interview, said 40,000 hecters of land has been earmark for the millet farmers in Jigawa state.
According to him, the aim of the programme is to make sufficient food available to people in the country, adding that each farmer is expected to receive eight bags of NPK, Urirear fertilizer, insecticide as well as sprayer machine to help the farmers.
He further stated that at the end of the farming season, each beneficiary is expected to pay back the loan.
