No fewer than 195 fermers, are expected to recieve the sum of N8 billion Naira in Jigawa state under the N cares projects own by world bank programme.
The state programme coordinator Alhaji Aminu Isah Ringim disclosed in an interview with our reporter in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.
Ringim explained that farmers who were chosen as beneficiaries were selected from the 27 local government and the training was conducted in three Senatorial zone.
Meanwhile, 40 farmere in Hadejia zone were selected from eight local government areas and in Jigawa North West 120 farmers are slated to benefit from 12 local government areas.
Also in Dutse zone that is Jigawa South East Zone with six local government areas 35 farmers were selected as to benefit.
Ringim said the eight billion naira under project would be disbursed to farmers in two years as an asistantance to farmers who are victims of covid 19
He assured that the implementation of the financial disbursement will soon be implemented in the state in the next ten days.
However, in his contribution Alh Nura Ado Jahun, a staff at the Jigawa state budget and economic planning, said the federal government has budgeted N8billion to each state of the federation under this project to assist farmers who suffer the effect of covid 19 across the 36 state of the nation .
Adding that the money is a soft loan to the farmers under the world bank projects in collaboration with N cares and states
The project targeted about 3000 to benefits from the project in Jigawa state including small scale industries owners
