A Toyota Bus, grey in colour with registration number MGM435XA conveying passengers to Maiduguri, Borno State, on Thursday, at about 0600hrs, was involved in an accident along Kiyawa -Jahun Road leaving two passengers dead, a male and female.
The incident occurred around Katika village when the driver lost control of the vehicle as a result of over speeding thereby colliding with a tree by the roadside.
The accident victims were immediately evacuated and rushed to a PHC Center in Kiyawa LGA.
According to reports, two were certified dead while others including the bus driver, sustained various degrees of injuries and referred to FMC Azare, in Bauchi State.
The names of the deceased were given as MOH’D ATIKU ‘M’ AGED 27 and CECILIA PETER ‘F’ AGED 21.
Saddened by the incident, the state command of the Nigerian Defense Corp enjoined public motorist to always drive with caution, avoid over speeding and other road traffic violations
Meanwhile, the incident was confirmed by the public relations officer of the Civil Defense CSC Adamu Shehu, Dcom, fcism.
