FUD Resumes After Eight Months ASSU Strike ASSU

The Federal University Dutse, has resumed academic activities after eight month strike.

The action which has interrupted academic sessions and also affected the living standard of lecturers in the country, has finally been suspended by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASSU after reaching to an agreement with the Federal Government.

Our reporter who was in dutse was able recieve letter of resumption calling for accademic and non academic staff of the FUD to resume duty for 2021 academic session.

The university on it’s letter said the decision of the university after the Senate meeting at it’s 55 emergency meeting held today, the Senate has approved Monday 31 of October 2022 for resumption of academic activities for the continuation of 2020/2022 academic session after the prolong strike action embarked upon by ASUU. and other union in the university. 

Students are expected to resumed on 31 of October first week for the continuation of second sisters lecture schedule to take place on 7 November 2nd to December 2022 equiblent to four weeks period .

The second semester examination would be held on 5 December to 31 december also a complete four weeks .

The marking of script and preparation of academic status will commence on 31 December 2022 to 14 January 2023 next year 

Mean while the departmental board meetings will start on 16 to 17 January 2023 for two days only, while faculty board meeting will be commence from 18,19,20 of next year January.

According to the paper sign by Register of the university Abubakar Mijin Yawa, the Senate business committee SBC meeting will take place on 23, 24 of January next year 

Adding that the commencement of new academic session will start on 6 February 2023 .

Therefore the university has directed the staff and students to note the adjustment accordingly
