Police Launch Man Hunt For Killers of Catholic Priest in Niger

The Police Command in Niger state said it had launched a man hunt for the killers of Catholic priest, Rev. Father Isaac Achi.

In the same vein, the Commissioner of Police in charge of the command, CP Ogundele Ayodeji, has dispatched a reinforcement team to the area to apprehend the assailants and ordered immediate commencement of investigation into the unfortunate attack.

This is contained in a statement by DSP. Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the command in Minna, the state capital.

The Reporters recalls that the deceased was burnt to death by the bandits in the early hours of Sunday, in his Parish residence along Daza road, Kafin – Koro, Paikoro Local Government Area of the state.

According to the PPRO, the suspects broke into the residence of the deceased at about 3.a.m and set the house ablaze,as they could not gain entrance to the fortified building.

This development, he added, led to the death of the priest while his colleague, Rev. Father Collins escaped with the gunshot.
