According to reports, Emmanuel, a male pharmacist, spent a significant amount of time disguising himself as a female parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Rumuolumeni, Rivers State in Nigeria, in order to marry his male spouse.
Emmanuel, known to his church members as Emmanuella, was almost ready to marry his partner until his death in a bicycle accident on the 31st January, when his true identity was confirmed at the morgue.
There are numerous reactions to the tale among Nigerians since it has gone viral.
Until his passing, Emmanuel was well-known inside the church not only as a female chorister but also as a devoted follower who frequently sang hymns.
Additionally, it was said that Emmanuel had previously had a formal wedding and was preparing to wed his partner.
However, the church didn’t know that the attractive and well-liked member was a man, which astonished the congregation.
