The Nigeria Police Force, has deployed no fewer than five thousand (5,000) personnel to Bayelsa State ahead of Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The force also deployed one Deputy Inspector General (DIG), an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), and two Police Commissioners to maintain order and ensure the safety of electorates and electoral officials before, during and after the polls tomorrow.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of election duty in the state, Ameachi Elemulu, disclosed the development while briefing journalists and significant stakeholders, including command officers, on Friday.
Elemulu assured that the police would maintain a high level of neutrality before and during the poll.
