The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta State, Ovie Omo-Agege has reinforced his media team ahead of the March 11 governorship polls.
The Deputy President of the Senate has appointed Sir Sunny Oghenejiro Areh as his Chief Press Secretary.
According to him, the appointment became necessary because Areh’s engagement would help build a new Delta-BAND governance agenda as he prepares to take over the reins of government in Delta State.
The development is coming barely nine days before the governorship election in the country.
Omo-Agege said Areh’s engagement is with immediate effect, adding that his wide and penetrative reach in the media world will be an added advantage to him.
Hitherto Areh’s new appointment, he was Press Secretary and Senior Special Assistant to former Governors of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori and Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, respectively.
Areh, who is a veteran in Political and Crisis Communication, before delving into political communication was a title Editor with the Vanguard, National Interest and Thisday newspapers.
The lawmaker, who is one of the major contenders in the forthcoming governorship election in Delta State, said in May 2022, that he joined the race because the state is in need of visionary leadership, someone that can harness and convert the state’s natural and human capital into proper use, hence, he joined the race with his vast experiences in administrative works.
