Fire Outbreak Destroys Houses in Malumawa Village in Jigawa

At least twenty house hold has been raised down by fire outbreak in Malumawa village in Kiyawa local Govt area of Jigawa state on Sunday.

The incident was confirmed by the spokesman for the NSCDC, SP Adamu Shehu, according to him the villages was completely raised down by fire food and other valuable items belonging to the people were completely destroyed by fire.

Shehu, stated that the fire started at about same time (1300hrs) and lasted for more than 2hrs before it was brought under control through the combine efforts of security personnel and the residents.

“In his words, Property including twenty houses, household items e.g beds, chairs, clothing’s, foodstuffs and animals were lost to the inferno. Although no human life was lost, some people were affected by the smoke and were rushed to Kiyawa LGA hospital for proper medical care”.

“The actual cause of the fire is yet to be known at the time of writing this report” he said.

However, while efforts were made to salvage the situation, two Motorcycles were stolen with one recovered where it was hidden by the thief. Meanwhile, the NSCDC operatives are making frantic effort to recover the other stolen bike.

One of the victim whose house was completely destroyed by the fire outbreak, malam Adamu Dan Gaya, has called on the Jigawa state government to come to their aid as many people have lost their house and properties with no place to sleep and no food to eat with their family members.
