‘I’m More Lagosian Than Sanwo-Olu Who Is From Ijebu’ – Rhodes-Vivour (Video)

The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, for the umpteenth time, has reiterated he is a Lagosian amidst the controversy surrounding his state of origin.

Rhodes-Vivour during an interactive session with Nigerian comedian AY said he is more Lagosian than the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who he claims hails from Ijebu, Ogun State.

According to the LP candidate, there is no way people will talk about issues in Lagos State without mentioning his family.

He noted that his family’s pedigree in Lagos spans over 100 years as his great-grandfather was the first black man to participate in the Nigerian government.

Rhodes Vivour also said the second judge ever appointed in Nigeria was from his family adding his family rented the first passport office to Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Rhodes-Vivour has addressed reports that his candidacy is being sponsored by some godfathers.

The LP Governorship candidate stated that he has no godfather backing him.

He said this while addressing claims by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, who on Tuesday said that his LP counterpart is being backed by godfathers such as Chief Bode George.

Speaking on Thursday morning during an interview on Arise TV, Rhodes-Vivour explained that he only has mentors and leaders.

The MIT graduate stated that it was quite ironic that Jandor was accusing him of godfatherism after getting his tickets with the help of the likes of former president Olusegun Obasanjo and PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
