Amb. Kazuare Reflects on Diplomatic Career Which Spans Over 30 Years – Launches Book

    The Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bello Husseini Kazaure has espoused the virtues of humility especially in diplomatic service.

    Kazuare stated this in his speech during the launching of his book titled “Humility in Diplomacy” in Abuja which serves as a reflection of his service through the course of his career in the ministry of Foreign Affairs which span 30 years and 2 days.

    According to Kazaure, the motivation behind the writing of the book is to share his wealth of experience with all and sundry, noting there were good and challenging times.

    He further stated that the book will serve as a morale booster to Nigerians and others who wish to be good representative of their country at various level of their endeavors.

    The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Gambari who was the Chairman of the occasion ably represented by Amb. Janet Olisa noted that diplomacy has significantly accelerated the level of cooperation among states, stressing that public diplomacy encourages people to people contact across boundaries which the author is conversant with.

    His words: ” It is gratifying to say that intellectual work of this nature will acquaint the general public in theoretical and practical steps to do what diplomats do, hence making the world a better place, diplomacy avails us the opportunity for greater collaboration and means for foreign investment”. He further noted that the book has captured the challenges and vast opportunities in Kazaure’s service and numerous avenues for personal development with attendant report on global scale.

    In his remarks at the occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama advised the younger generation to read the book and imbibe the quality of humility and hard work, passion which Kazaure exemplified.

    He also advised other diplomats to be courageous and document their experiences by writing memoirs. He also stated that the humility is very important and does not denote weakness but rather strength.

    The Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Aminu Ado Bayero who is the Royal Father of the day in his remarks noted that Kazaure has made noble accomplishment and that with the launch of his book, he has raised the bar in the writing of memoirs which put together the trajectory of his career.

    He recommended the book which he described as very rich in content to serve as a good weapon for lecturers, students and researchers of international studies, which will also enrich Nigerians in practical knowledge of diplomacy.

    He also implored other foreign officers to emulate Amb. Kazuare and avail the public of their foreign experiences across the globe.

    There were also remarks from Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria in Diaspora Commission as well as His Excellency Amb. Salaheddeine Ibrahima, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.
