Police authorities in the German city of Dresden reportedly apprehended a middle-aged man late Tuesday night after he tried to set a mosque on fire.
Reports claimed that the suspect approached the mosque and spilt a content suspected to be Premium Motor Spirits (PMS), popularly known as petrol, in front of the Muslim worship centre and tried to set the building ablaze.
learnt that people nearby immediately reached the emergency services number after they saw the man’s act.
The man, 34, was arrested and is under police investigation for attempted aggravated arson.
Though his motive was initially unclear, the same suspect was said to have set fire to a copy of the Holy Qur’an in a mosque in April.
