Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, expressed his support for the potential appointment of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as Chief of Staff by President Bola Tinubu.
Lawan emphasized that Tinubu required a Chief of Staff well-versed in legislative matters, making Gbajabiamila the ideal candidate.
Speaking to State House correspondents on Thursday, Lawan addressed the speculation surrounding Gbajabiamila’s potential role as Tinubu’s Chief of Staff.
He stated, “The Speaker of the House of Representatives has been rumored to be the Chief of Staff designate. You are speculating. I am waiting for the announcement. First of all, I pray that it comes to pass. If that happens, the president would have made a very wise decision. At this moment, you need a chief of staff with very vast experience in the area of legislation and in the area of cooperating with the executive, which the Speaker spearheaded from the House.”
