The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwaifuru has begun moves to increase the salary of state civil servants by 10 naira across boards and the employment of the state indigenes into various openings in the state civil service.
According to a circular signed by the Governor himself, the State Executive Council Meeting held yesterday the 13th of July 2023 received a report from the Head of Service of the state on areas the state needed to employ state indigenes into various Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the State Civil Service.
The circular also states that EXCO has approved the employment of 1,454 citizens into the state civil service and the decision by the EXCO to increase the salaries of state civil servants by Ten Thousand Naira (10, 000.00) each.
This development has generated mixed reactions among indigenes of the state.
