The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings indefinitely.
This development comes on the heels of the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Originally slated for July 10 and 11, these key meetings were initially postponed to the following Tuesday and Wednesday.
However, they have now been delayed with no rescheduled date as of yet.
The acting national chairman of the APC, Senator Abubakar Kyari confirmed this postponement while addressing the press at the conclusion of an emergency NWC meeting.
In addition to announcing the meeting’s delay, Senator Kyari also confirmed the resignation of the party’s national secretary, Iyiola Omisore.
Raye24reporters had earlier reported that Omisore attempted to access the NWC meeting held at the national secretariat of the party on Monday.
Reports, however, have it that Omisore was denied access to the meeting.
Omisore while speaking on why he left the venue of the meeting said he left the secretariat as soon as he came in when he met the absence of the party’s national chairman at the meeting.
He further stated that he was going to meet Adamu at his residence, adding that he did not know why the former Nasarawa governor was not at the secretariat.
