Massoudou Hassoumi, Niger’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the Extraordinary Summit of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (CEDEAO), in Abuja on Thursday.
Raye24reporters reports that Hoassoumi represented the ousted President, Mohamed Bazoum at the meeting held at the Old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.
It was gathered that the meeting deliberated on the next line of actions that will follow up on the resolutions and ultimatum issued to the Nigerien junta, which recently sacked Bazoum from office.
President Tinubu had scheduled another meeting after the expiration of the seven-day ultimatum the regional bloc issued for the reinstatement of the Nigerien President.
However, the military coup leaders ignored the ultimatum, resulting in additional sanctions by ECOWAS and also formed a new government.
