A 4-year old boy identified as Salmanu Umar of Unguwar Dinya village in Jigawa State was found in a pool of blood with deep cut on his throat with a sharp object.
A team of detectives led by Divisional Police Officer, Roni Division, on receiving the report, rushed to the scene of crime and conveyed the victim to General Hospital Kazaure for treatment, but was later confirmed dead while receiving treatment in the hospital.
Raye24reporters learnt that one Ibrahim Adamu age 50yrs of Unguwar Dinya village in Roni LGA, who is a husband to the deceased mother, was arrested in connect with the death of the lad during investigation.
On interrogation at SCID Dutse, the state capital, the suspect who confessed to committing the crime further revealed that he developed hatred for the child due to the fact that he cannot afford to be feeding someone’s child.
He also added that, he attempted to kill the child for the first time, but the attempt failed because the child’s mother reported him to her in-laws.
Meanwhile, the suspect have been arraigned in court to face the full weight of the law.
In a related development, on the 13/8/2023 at about 2130hrs, the Policemen attached to Hadejia ’ Division conducted raid at all black spots and criminal hideouts in Hadejia LGA, in the process one Uche Peter age 36yrs of Sabon Gari village K/Hausa LGA, was arrested in possession of two hundred and forty (240) pieces of Triple Red Sun Solution suspected to be hard drug.
On interrogation, the suspect confessed that, he bought the same from a shop, when search was conducted in the said shop, the owner of the shop fled to unknown destination.
Effort to arrest him is on top gear, meanwhile the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution upon completion of investigation.
