Jisalo Promises to Facilitate Deployment of Central Monitoring System to Block Loss of Lottery Revenues in Nigeria

The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, Zaphaniah Jisalo has given assurances that he will facilitate the development of Central Monitoring System (CMS) in the country to forestall loss of huge sums of money to illegal gaming operators in the country.

This was contained in a statement signed by Anastasia Ogbonna, Head, Press & PR.

Jiaslo made this known today in Abuja at National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) in continuation of the familiarisation tour of Parastatals under the supervision of the Ministry .

The Minister further assured that the CMS will be deployed as soon as is possible as it will make it possible to harness the hugh revenue potentials in the gaming industry.

While commending NLTF for the cause of good works which are impacting positively in the lives of Nigerians, the Minister urged them not to forget that they being supervised by the Ministry and should collaborate.

In her address, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, stressed the need to deploy innovation, adding that the world is changing and the CMS could not be deployed at a better time than now.

She also talked about the need for constant feedback and strategic communication, adding that the Ministry looks forward to open, honest dialogue that will genuinely strengthen the bond between NLTF and the Ministry.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Nigeria Lottery Trust Fund, Dr. Bello Maigari, urged the Minister to use his good offices to get a permanent accommodation for them, as the financial burden of operating from rented building was enormous. He, however suggested that the government could cede one of the buildings forfeited by defaulters to it as operational base.

According to Bello, chief among the challenges encountered which he seeks intervention, include but not limited to: corruption practices among stakeholders, leading to mismanagement and diversion of revenues and harassment of State Lottery Agencies, leading to disruption of activities, multiple taxations and request to share lottery revenues by State Governments.
