Reptiles Take Over Ogun Communities as Flood Crisis Worsens

Residents of areas affected by the flood caused by the water released from the Oyan Dam have begun to panic after sighting some dangerous animals in their vicinities.

The flood which started spreading across the border communities in Lagos and Ogun states about two weeks ago has continued to increase by the day.

Some residents of Prime View City Estate, however, claimed to have been seeing snakes, alligators and scorpions crawling out of the water in search of dry land.

PUNCH Metro learnt some of the buildings in the affected areas have been abandoned by the owners who are now taking refuge elsewhere. The water had also occupied some shops in the area.

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, also inspected the flooded communities on Wednesday.
