ImoDecides2023: LP Governorship Candidate, Achonu Wins Polling Unit

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in in Imo State, Senator Athan Achonu, has won his polling unit.

The LP candidate won his polling unit located in Umunumo hamlet, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area (LGA) with a wide margin despite the low turnout in the ongoing election.

However, of the 734 registered voters in the polling unit where Achonu cast his ballot, 216 accredited voters participated.

Achonu polled 197 votes, while the incumbent governor and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Hope Uzodinma, got only 16 votes. There were three reported invalid votes.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the Imo State Guber election, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has won his polling unit.

Anyanwu secured victory for the PDP in Polling Unit (PU) 012, Amaino Community Primary School in Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.

The party polled 122 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), which polled two votes while the Labour Party secured none.
