AFCON 2023: Schools shut down as fans get mobilised for Nigeria, Ivory Coast match

Following their clash against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, schools in Ivory Coast have been shut down with fans mobilised to the stadium to drum support for the Elephants.

The Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan will play host to the AFCON 2023 blockbuster clash between Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

The Alassane Ouattara Stadium can accommodate over 60,000 fans with a chunk of the capacity expected to be Ivory Coast fans as tickets for the game had already been sold out days before the tournament started.

Reports from Abidjan is that all schools have been shut down as a form of support to the Elephants as they square up against Africa football giants, the Super Eagles.

It is also reported that fans have already started thronging their way to the stadium as early as eight hours before the game as a full-house is expected when proceedings kick off 6pm Nigeria time.
