Falgore Sends Warmest Greetings to Muslim Ummah as Ramadan Begins Today

The Kano State Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt Hon Jibrin Ismail Falgore, sends warm greetings to Muslims on the commencement of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

As today marks the 1st day of Ramadan in the Hijri Calendar, the Speaker emphasizes that Ramadan presents an invaluable opportunity to pray fervently for Kano and the country as a whole.

In a press statement signed by spokesperson Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the Speaker urges worshippers during the month of Ramadan to reflect on the “shared qualities that define us; compassion, sharing, and supporting one another. These virtues are needed now more than ever.”

Falgore emphasizes the importance of sacrificing more for the poor and demonstrating a greater commitment to addressing the needs of the less fortunate, calling on individuals to live up to these expectations.

He prays for Allah’s acceptance of prayers for both Kano and Nigeria, as well as for the entire Muslim Ummah during the Ramadan fast.

However, the Speaker also expresses concern over the high cost of living, particularly the increasing prices of commodities, and reiterates the lawmakers’ unwavering commitment to taking the necessary steps aimed at cushioning against these effects.

The Rt Hon Speaker reaffirms the House’s dedication to closely collaborating with His Excellency Kano State Governor Eng. Abba Kabir Yusuf in implementing measures aimed at alleviating the suffering during the month of Ramadan.
