Abba Kyari:NDLEA Tighten up Security at HQ Over Fear of Possible Attack

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has reportedly beefed up security at its headquarters at Gambia, Area11, Garki, Abuja, over possible attack.

According to information gathered, the anti-drug agency tightened up it security over fears of attempts to free the embattled leader of the Intelligence Response Team, DCP Abba Kyari and some of his men in custody.

The suspended DSP and commander of IRT has been in the custody of the anti-narcotics agency since Monday for allegedly dealing in cocaine trafficking.

It was gathered that top officials of the NDLEA are trying to prevent any unfortunate circumstance.

Vanguard, reports that the agency had stopped visitors from its premises since 3.30 pm yesterday.

It was also learnt that this was done following directives from Brigadier General Buba Marwa (rtd), the agency boss.

A source disclosed that the agency would pursue the case to its logical conclusion, especially, as some individuals have accused the NDLEA of simply carrying out an agenda to undo the police by parading only its officials involved in the drug deal.

They know that it is not true. Our boss had since started a cleansing exercise by sanitizing the agency from head to toe.

“That is exactly what played out leading to the exposure of the dirty deal initiated by Abba Kyari.

“If not, the deal would have been swept under the carpet while suspects will go their ways. So, this time around, we will not allow anybody to smear our hard-earned image,” the source said.
