AFCON 2025 Qualifier: Rwanda, Nigeria Clash Ends in Goalless Draw

The Rwandan side, have held Nigeria to a goalless draw in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday two encounter in Kigali today, on Tuesday.

The home team enjoyed the support from their fans, and they dominated the opening minutes.

The Eagles however, bounced back to control the game with Ademola Lookman causing problems for the hosts’ defence.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Lookman was put through on goal in the 20th minute by Wilfred Ndidi but his shot was saved by Ntwari Fiacre.

The Atalanta winger saw the back of the net net but the goal was controversially chalked off by the centre referee.

Victor Boniface hit the woodwork nine minutes before the break after he was set up by Lookman.

Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen made two changes at the start of second half.

Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon took the place of Victor Boniface and Samuel Chukwueze.

The Super Eagles created a number of chances in the second half but Ntwari thwarted their efforts.

The West Africans remain top of Group D with four points from two games.

Nigeria will host the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in their next game in the qualifiers next month.
