Apostle Suleman Speaks on Preferred Guber Candidate For Lagos

Founder and General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman, on Friday made cryptic posts on social media about his preferred governorship candidate for Lagos State gubernatorial election.

Raye24reporters understands that Apostle’s church headquarters is based in Auchi, Edo State. The cleric, who is far South-South, however, spoke on Friday about telling his family members in Lagos to vote for the Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate in the state, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV).

In a series of posts via his verified Twitter handle, Apostle Suleman said he wondered why there are always controversies whenever a Pastor publicly declares his political interest.

The renowned preacher made the remark in reaction to those attacking him for showing a preference for a particular candidate in the presidential election.

According to Apostle Suleman, his family members in Lagos were asking for his opinion about whom they should vote for in the state guber election. He, however, expressed concern that there will be side talks if he decided to tell them who to vote for.

He tweeted: “There is something I don’t get..when things are bad in the nation, they call out pastors for being quiet.

“When pastors speak, they say why are they being factional. I want to ask an honest question, as a pastor can’t I have a preferred candidate for me and my family?

“I am asking because my family members in Lagos are asking me who they should vote for, if I say they should all vote @GRVlagos, people will say I have started again, that as a pastor I should support everyone. So I won’t say anything,” Apostle Suleman noted.

Recall that the incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is seeking re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, following the outcome of the February 25th presidential election in the state, Sanwo-Olu would have a score to settle in the March 18 governorship election with GRV and Jandor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Naija News reports.
