Atiku Frowns Over Attack On Ohanaeze President-General, Obiozor’s Home

Presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar has condemned the attack on the county home of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, George Obizor as describing it as
“daring and obnoxious”.

It was gathered that some unknown gunmen burnt down the residence of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leader in Awo-Omanma, Oru East Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.

The gunmen who arrived at the former Nigerian Ambassador to the United States’ home in vehicles razed the house with Explosives Ordinance Disposals.

The former ambassador was not at home when the gunmen attacked his property.

In a statement on Monday released by his Media Office, Abubakar condemned the attack on the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leader’s residence in Imo, stressing that the incident is inexcusable.

The People Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain expressed sympathy with the president-general of the pan-Igbo socio-cultural group and his family over the attack.

Abubakar stated that the latest attack further reinforces the need to strengthen security across the country and ensure that Nigerians are safe from incendiary attacks.

The former vice president, however, urged relevant security agencies to ensure that the assailants are apprehended and brought to book.

Meanwhile, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has described the attack on the residence of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo as a barbaric act that is shameful and disgraceful.

IPOB in a statement released on Monday noted that the evil act has nothing to do with the group, ESN or Biafra agitation.

The spokesman of the group, Emma Powerful noted that IPOB does not consider Professor Obiozor an enemy of IPOB or Biafra struggle.

IPOB while condemning the act added that the Ohanaeze leader has done nothing to deserve such a wicked attack.
