Attempt Kidnap: Police Rescue Three Minors, Reunite Them With Family in Lagos

In furtherance of the inspector general of police Olukayode Egbetokun’s zero tolerance to all forms of criminality nationwide, a swift response from the officers and Men of the force attached to the Commissioner of police Lagos Tactical Squad (Ijegun Annex) and led by SP Akinriola Aduroja has led to the arrest of criminals who attempted to kidnap underage pupils from their school in Lagos.

Acting on intelligent information gathered from a good Samaritan residing at Ijagemo road under Ikotun/Igando LCDA area of Lagos State, the CP Tactical Squad Ijegun Annex swung into action.

They arrived at the Davdel group of School area at about 3:00pm on the 11th of March, 2024.

While engaging in conversations with members of the community concerning the suspect, a female, 40yrs, named Akinola Alima, it was revealed that she has always pararded herself as a lunatic but due to the proactiveness of the police officers on ground they quickly surrounded the school premises and ensured that the perpetrators were brought to book.

The main culprit was arrested while the other members of the syndicate fled on motorcycles due to limited logistics and manpower provided for the police.

Upon investigation and interrogation by the officers who questioned the Culprit at the scene of crime, she couldn’t provide any cogent reason for being at the school.

It was established that the female suspect Akinola Alima had smuggled herself into the school premises with a motive to kidnap the (3) minors aged 4yrs, 5yrs, and 6yrs while but her efforts were frustrated by the timely intervention of the police.

Reacting to the incident, Onijegun of Ijegun, His Royal Majesty Oba Nureni Alani Akinremi and the Chairman of Ikotun /Igando LCDA, Hon. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya applauded the commissioner of police Lagos State Fayoade Adegoke for his commitment, and visionary leadership under which the officers achieved the impressive success.

Investigations are currently ongoing towards apprehending other members of the syndicate who are currently at large.

The police have also assured residents and Lagosians that perpetrators will be arraigned in court as soon as possible.
